The School Solutions Group of McGraw-Hill Education has an immediate opening for an Editor, in our Family and Consumer Sciences editorial department.
Position Responsibilities: Assist in the planning, editing, and execution of projects for Family and Consumer Sciences programs. Individual will supervise the work of authors as well as edit manuscript according to design and market requirements. Maintains project schedules and budgets. Analyzes competition, identifying strengths and weaknesses. Writes photo and art specifications. Prepares manuscript for production. Communicates project requirements to authors, consultants, and freelance editors. Works closely with other content editors, ADP, Marketing, and Manufacturing to ensure that project specifications and goals are implemented. Performs other editorial duties as assigned.
Qualifications Position Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 5 years editorial experience are required. Must have strong English language skills. Must have excellent interpersonal and time-management skills. Must have strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to work in a team environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required. Previous teaching experience is a plus. A background in Family and Consumer Sciences is a plus.
